This was one of the most inconvenient Airbnb stays I’ve experienced. After driving 23 hours from Texas to California for my grandfather’s funeral, I was told only 90 minutes before check-in that I would have to stay in a different unit than the one I originally booked. The alternate unit was about 25 minutes farther from my family, had only three bedrooms, and had several issues. The cohost said we would need to stay there for 2–3 days before moving to the original unit, showing little empathy for how disruptive this was during an already difficult time. After contacting Airbnb Support, the host agreed to move us to the original unit the following day if it was ready. However, when we arrived, the property had a strong odor, the windows were left open to air it out, and there were visible stains on the couch. The listing listed 4 bedrooms but only had 3 Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and we ultimately left a day early because the smell and overall inconvenience
Tien was responsive to a few issues. The plumbing backed up from a diaper and the AC had problems. the washing machine didn't work. The bed was comfortable. the small bathroom shower water didn't get very hot.
Nice place with large backyard. Had some plumbing issues but it was resolved. Good communication with hosts and owner, who are great.
